  • An annual in-home inspection of your exposed interior natural gas lines, appliance connectors and shutoff valves (available upon request and subject to schedule availability).
  • Repairs of leaks on exposed interior natural gas lines that can develop over time due to everyday wear and tear.
  • Repairs of leaks to your home’s exterior natural gas lines such as those running to detached garages and outdoor appliances like grills, lamp posts, and pool heaters — including lines that are underground — for lines that are your responsibility.

  • Reimbursement up to $3,500 for reasonable hotel room and up to $1,000 for reasonable boarding of house pets should you need temporary housing until your gas line service is restored if Oncourse Home Solutions cannot perform a covered gas line repair in a timely manner. (Any such hotel room or boarding must be authorized in advance.).
  • No waiting period; coverage begins as soon as your enrollment is approved.

*Note: Interior gas pipes and connectors must be exposed with reasonable access. Gas piping must be 1/2 to 1-1/4 inch pipe of a type certified by the American Gas Association, National Fuel Gas Code or the National Fire Protection Association. Gas piping must be installed to meet local, state and federal codes. Additional exclusions and restrictions may apply. FAQs

    ::Tab 2 Content::

Q: What should I do if I smell natural gas?

A: Leave immediately if you smell gas in your home. Do not operate anything that could cause a spark — including lights, cell phones, flashlights and appliances. Get to a safe location outside your home and then call 911 and your local gas utility. Wait for a crew to check on the source of the odor and make the area safe before returning.

Q: What does this bundle package cover?

A: With this package, you’ll have repair coverage for the natural gas lines that you own, both inside and outside your home, and for the water service line that brings water from the utility main to your home. (Line sections that are in or under a home’s foundation or slab are not included.) The coverage includes an annual in-home inspection of your natural gas lines, and there’s a reimbursement allowance for approved hotel, pet boarding and restoration expenses related to covered natural gas line repairs. We’ll also handle any needed permits and inspections. For more details, please see the .

Q: How does the gas line inspection work?

A: The Complete Gas Line Protection portion of this bundle includes an annual in-home safety inspection of exposed interior gas lines, shutoff valves and connectors. If leaking components are found, they will be replaced. When you are ready for your inspection, simply call the Customer Care number and request an appointment. A professional will come to your home to perform the inspection.

Q: Aren't utility lines responsible for my gas lines and outside water lines?

A: Utility companies are responsible for the lines that get their product to your property or home, but after that the homeowner generally becomes responsible. For a water service line, typical homeowner responsibility extends from the property line to the home. And after a natural gas line exits the gas meter, the line typically is the responsibility of the homeowner. (Your responsibility may vary. If you live in a dwelling like a condominium, check with your homeowners’ association to determine your responsibilities.)

Q: Does my homeowners' insurance cover these problems?

A: Individual insurance policies can vary, but standard homeowners’ insurance policies typically do not cover repair or replacement of natural gas lines and water service lines for wear-and-tear issues.

Q: I have a water well. Is that covered?

A: The water well itself would not be covered, but the service line running between the well and the home will be covered.

Q: Are the faucets on the outside of my house considered outside water service lines?

A: The faucets on your home are not considered outside water service lines and are not covered by this program. The outside water service line is the line that connects your home to the utility water main in the street. It typically runs underground all the way to your home.

Q: Is there a waiting period to file a claim?

A: There is no waiting period for Complete Gas Line Protection. You can make a claim and request your annual gas line inspection at any time once your enrollment has been accepted. For Preferred Outside Water Line Protection claims, there is a 30-day wait after your enrollment has been accepted before you can make a claim on the coverage (and pre-existing conditions are not covered).

Q: Does this plan cover connectors to my outdoor grill or outdoor kitchen accessories?

A: Yes, it does! The plan will cover outdoor natural gas piping and the connectors to your outdoor grill, outdoor kitchen accessories and more if those lines are your responsibility.

Q: Will a water line break inside my home be covered?

A: Not by the Preferred Outside Water Line Protection Plan, but we do offer interior plumbing protection plans to cover leaks and breaks to the water and drain lines inside the home. Those are available for purchase separately.
